FELINE PHYSICS
1. Law of Cat Inertia- A cat at rest will tend to remain at rest, unless acted upon by some outside force, such as the opening of cat food or a nearby scurrying mouse.
2. Law of Cat Magnetism -All blue blazers and black sweaters attract cat hair in direct proportion to the darkness of the fabric.
3. Law of Cat Thermodynamics -Heat flows from a warmer to a cooler body, except in the case of a cat, in which case all heat flows to the cat.
4. Law of Cat Elongation-A cat can make her body long enough to reach just about any counter top that has anything remotely interesting on it.
5. Law of Dinner Table Attendance-Cats must attend all meals when anything good is served.
6. Law of Obedience Resistance- A cat's resistance varies in proportion to a human's desire for her to do something.
7. Law of Bag/Box Occupancy- All bags and boxes in a given room must contain a cat within the earliest possible nanosecond.
8. Law of Cat Embarrassment- A cat's irritation rises in direct proportion to her embarrassment times the amount of human laughter.
9. Law of Furniture Replacement- A cat's desire to scratch furniture is directly proportional to the cost of the furniture.
10. Law of Cat Landing- A cat will always land in the softest place possible; often the mid-section of an unsuspecting, reclining human.
11. Law of Cat Disinterest- A cat's interest level will vary in inverse proportion to the amount of effort a human expends in trying to interest him.
12. Law of Pill Rejection- Any pill given to a cat has the potential energy to reach escape velocity.
13. Law of RandomComfort Seeking- A cat will always seek, and usually take over, the most comfortable spot in any given room.

You couldn't have hit the nail on the head any better!! Having 3 cats, I totally agree with all your "Laws" -- I would like to add to #4 -- it includes beds too. My cats take up the whole bed and I have about a 4x6 square in which to sleep!!

I really dislike cats. As much as I can dislike an animal(lol) I have one in the house and three who live in the woodshed, two more who stop over for dinner about 4 or 5 days a week. I absolutely love the physics. They are all true. My house cat is obcessed with my hair. she has to sleep on my head. UGH! Can you help? LOL. Happy TT.
What is it with cats and pills...actually I am pretty good at giving cats pills...but it is amazing when they sneak them under their tongue...then eject them later.

I love cats!
I have a mean cat - she will wait until I nice and snug on the couch to take a little rest and then she will very vocally let me know she wants to go outside.

Law of Cat Curiosity: Cat's seem most interested in humans when we go to the bathroom and DARE to close the door to it while they are outside. (Note the little paws scrambling to get in to see what's happening.)
This is because, as a friend once pointed out, that cat's are aliens... sent to Earth to monitor human bathroom habits. Those times, when you think the cat is "zoned out" staring at the wall... no... it's just using telepathy to communicate to the mother ship.

I'm not a cat person, but my neighbor has one of the most interesting cats I know.
He has been declawed, but he still manages to climb anywhere he needs to go, hunt down squirrels, mice, and chipmunks and generally live a completely independent life.

LOL, LOL..This is so true and so very dear, too, Raggedy....Aren't cats the BEST? I love my "Sweetie" more than I can say, but he does have a mind of his own. Though he does not suffer from many of the things mentioned..I feel that somewhere in his sweet little cat psyche he nderstands that I am among the "older" folks now, so he doesn't beg for food, ever....Never been interested in people food...He NEVER junps up on tables and rarely on furniture, though he is on my bed more than not...THAT is his favorite place. He is there right now, and that's more than fine by me....!

Law of Cat in Trouble--tearing up the screen door last night. The cat doesn't even have claws and she was inside and now I have this big ass whole in my screen. I am really mad at Miss Lucy right now.
I think you forgot the attraction of a cat for any human body part! One of my cat did bit my underarm.
Ironicly, he was a devil, but the only cat we could keep in without any allergy reaction from my behalf!

This is so true! Cats are a different creature, that's for sure. I can't have cats inside (my husband is allergic), but my mom and dad have an outside cat who fits most of these laws.
